La Propuesta 2.0

Research Topic :
Touches Shape! (game)

Theme:
social innovation and new media

Background:
This idea is an implementation of a kids' toy, shape block puzzle. In that puzzle, kids need to match the particular shape into the correct opening in order to put all the shape blocks in the box.


Problem Identification:
Learning about shape in normal way would be a boring process for those grown up kids. With technologies, we can make the learning fun and challenging. Playing normal game in normal PC would be interesting yet boring too.

Aim and Objectives:
  • To implement new technology in game development
  • To provide a high technology experience to user
  • To test how kid thinks in solving problems
Motivation
I found that kids nowadays are tend to use digital learning method compared to using normal book. So, I think learning by this game would be an appropriate approach.

Ideation and Concept
I will create a problem solving game and the game will be played on multi touch table. User can drag, resize, rotate and flip the shape pieces in order to solve the problem they encountered.

Example given:
User needs to release a balloon by shooting a blade. In other to make the blade cut the balloon's thread, he needs to put particular shape to helps the blade moves.

It is like "Max and Magic Marker" and "Magic Pen" games but the difference is they are using lines and this game is using shapes.
