Data Analysis

I have done an online survey for a few days. The questionnaires has been host at freeonlinesurvey.com. To get the better response on this topic, I have paste the link of my questionnaires at my own social networking profile. I managed to collect 30 feedbacks from my online friends which 15 half of them are men and another 15 are women. They are from varied age range.

The age-ranged of the participants

From this data collection, I found that in online social networking world, there are a lot of teenagers and young adults compared to the older one.

The main reason for them to have social networking site (SNS) accounts is to be friend and socialize with others. Another reasons is to stay in touch with old friends, gather virtually, changing information and also just follow the current trends. I also asked them about how many social networking sites account that they owned.

The number of SNSs that they owned

There are 9 respondents who have only 1 account and 7 respondents who have more than 5 accounts. Remaining 14 respondents have 2 to 5 SNSs accounts. This numbers can showed that SNSs is very important to them.

86.7% admit that SNSs is important to them

Besides the main reason of having SNSs accounts, they also been asked about what they are looking for in a SNS.

From the data collection, i learnt that there are 4 factor to make them stay using a SNS. They are friendship, family relation, networking and also just to have fun. So, for my project, I should highlight on these factors.

Hour spend on SNSs

I also found that 11 respondents spent 1 - 3 hours on SNSs and 10 respondents spent 4-6 hours. 7 - 10 hours have been spent by 6 respondent and 2 spent 11-15hours and remaining 1 spent 16 - 20 hours on SNSs.

They spend their time on SNSs to chatting, playing games, observing others's profile and also stalking the one they like.

Information sharing

The studies also found that respondent are like to share pictures and videos compared to personal details. They also like to share their daily activities update and also their interest.

Photo

Even though they like to share photos, there are a group of pictures they like to share with others. The respondents are like to share more pictures of family or friends gathering followed by the pictures of an event. Sharing own self photos is also one of their choice.

Group of people who they are comfortable to take pictures with

From the survey, my respondents prefer to take pictures alone as their first choice then followed with boyfriend/girlfriend and also family. My respondent did not prefer to take photo with professional alliances and friends of friend as their first choice. Close friend, friends and random people are on third ranking of their first choice.

Sources of pictures

Majority of my respondent are taking and uploading the pictures in their account by themselves. They are 8 respondents who depends on tagged from friends' album and remaining 3 respondents are taking the pictures from internet or other sources.
